Open Doors
Open Doors is an International organisation dedicated to helping the persecuted church throughout the world. It was in 1955 that Brother Andrew (the founder of Open Doors) smuggled Bibles in Eastern Europe for the first time. In 1956, Brother Andrew made the first of many trips to the Soviet Union in his blue Volkswaen Beetle which was to travel over 200,000.
Between 1955-78 Open Doors extended its network throughout Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union and then expanded to bring Bibles and encouragement to persecuted Christians.
In 1967, GOD'S SMUGGLER, Brother Andrew's biography, was published and it went on to become one of the best-selling Christian books of all time.
Open Doors delivers standard (Protestant) Bibles all over the world. However, none of the Bibles are in English but in the languages of the individual countries. All of the translations are fully approved by the Bible Societies.
